Five establishments at the two-story Sablan Building in San Jose were burglarized over the weekend.

The burglars were able to run off with over $600 in bills and coins from four of the five establishments, Saipan Tribune learned.

At least one suspect is believed to have been injured as bloodstains were found in the some of the establishments.

Burglarized were Saint Trading Co. Inc., Rosal/Zest Enterprises, Modern Hair Salon and Barber Shop, the former Eutopia Sports Bar, and YWA CNMI Corp. The glass doors of the five units were shattered either with hollow blocks, rocks, or other hard objects.

Of the five, only the former Eutopia did not lose money or any items as the burglars failed to get inside because of a secondary steel door.

Except for YWA, the burglarized units are all located on the ground floor of the two-story building.

The suspects stole $500 cash from Saint Trading; less than $50 in coins from Rosal/Zest Enterprises; $50 from Modern Hair Salon; and $28 in cash and coins from YWA CNMI Corp.

The multiple burglaries were discovered when Maura Pajarillaga, a 52-year-old beautician at Modern Hair Salon, reported for work Saturday at 7am and found their glass door shattered and the parlor messed up. Pajarillaga noticed that neighboring establishments had also been burglarized. Police were then called.

Pajarillaga said that bloodstains were all over the floor of their parlor and their cash register had been destroyed. She said $50 cash was stolen from the register and $15 to $20 in coins in her bag was also taken.

At Saint Trading, the suspects opened all the drawers and stole $500 cash.

Neneth Delos Santos, owner of Saint Trading, said they fortunately were able to give the salaries of their employees on Friday so only a few cash was left in the drawer when the incident happened.

Delos Santos said their office was closed Friday at 7:30pm and that she learned about the burglary on Saturday at 8am when one of their employees called her.

Delos Santos said she is very disappointed and hopes that authorities will catch the burglars and the court will not impose a “slap on the wrist.”

At Rosal/Zest, the office was also in disarray, and less than $50 in coins was stolen.

YWA owner Ben T. Fejeran said some teenagers were seen roaming the building prior to the burglary and he hopes police would find them.

The law office of attorney Edward Arriola Sr., which is located between the Rosal/Zest and Modern Hair Salon was not burglarized. Some other establishments where tenants stay were spared by the burglars.
