Church of Latter Day Saints is moving to a new home

The Church of Latter Day Saints’ 40-year lease on its current church grounds in Chalan Lau Lau, Saipan, will soon expire, which means the church will be moving to a new location.

In line with this, the church held a ground breaking ceremony that was attended by church leaders and members last Saturday at the new proposed location—a peaceful neighborhood along Katbon Drive in San Vicente, overlooking the Lau Lau Bay.

The Church of Latter Day Saints has a big congregation in this side of the Asia Pacific, as they have established churches in Guam, Japan, and Saipan along with missionaries throughout Micronesia.

According to a construction worker at the site, they are supposed to work and finish the project in a year.

According to Wikipedia, the Church of Latter Day Saints was introduced to the CNMI in 1944 to 1945 by American servicemen during World War II.
