GOP names 6 more official bets

The CNMI Republican Party’s central committee officially endorsed six more candidates. The GOP has been trying to coalesce with independents and those from other parties, that’s why it has not been completing its slates for most precincts.
These include four candidates for Precinct 1, which has six seats.

As of Monday, the GOP’s candidates for Precinct 1 are incumbent Rep. Richard B. Seman (R-Saipan), press secretary Angel Demapan, Customs seaport branch manager Greg M. Sablan, and Board of Parole’s Joseph “Lee Pan” Tenorio Guerrero.

For Precinct 4, the Republican Party’s candidate is incumbent Rep. George N. Camacho (R-Saipan).

GOP also said that its Precinct 5 candidate is incumbent Rep. Antonio “Ton Pai” Agulto (Ind-Saipan).

“Other precincts’ endorsements will be provided soonest,” Ivan Blanco, chairman of the GOP Central Committee’s public relations team, said yesterday.

Earlier, the GOP endorsed only three candidates for Precinct 3, which also has six seats. But it endorsed the two incumbents for Precinct 2.

The GOP’s gubernatorial team is Gov. Eloy S. Inos with Senate President Ralph Torres (R-Saipan) as his running mate. They face at least three other tickets, and the CNMI could be headed for another gubernatorial runoff if no one gets at least 50 percent plus one of the votes cast in the general elections.

The GOP is inviting the public to join them at the Republican Party’s kickoff rally on Sunday, March 23, from 10am to 3pm at the Susupe basketball courts.
