Inos creates transition committee
As promised, Gov. Eloy S. Inos established a transition committee to effectuate the transition to the incoming administration composed of himself as governor-elect and lieutenant governor-elect, Senate President Ralph DLG. Torres (R-Saipan).
In a memo to all departments dated Dec. 9, 2014, Inos wrote, “I have established a Committee on Transition (Transition Committee) under the Office of the Governor-Elect, to provide for the orderly transition for the incoming Inos-Torres administration.”
Inos said he appointed Gregorio M. Camacho to serve as the chairman of the transition committee and ordered that information be made readily available to him.
“Access to information must be made readily available by the head of each department, board, commission, instrumentality, independent entity, including any government corporation.
“To ensure a smooth timely transition review, please designate an adequate work area for the committee to conduct their business,” added Inos in his memo.
In related news, Inos also issued a hiring freeze effective immediately to all government departments and agencies.
“All personnel actions including, but not limited to, change in salary compensation and re-allocations, shall be frozen until further notice,” Inos wrote in a memo also issued yesterday, Dec. 9, 2014.
