Kagman High School's goalie clears out the ball in Tuesday's MISO girls soccer match against Marianas High School's junior varsity at the Oleai Sports Complex. (Walter Sutherland) Kagman High School rallied against Marianas High School’s junior varsity squad, 2-1, thanks to a late penalty kick in the final five  minutes of their Marianas Interscholastic Sports Organization matchup held last Wednesday at the Oleai Sports Complex field.

The win improved KHS’ record to a win with no losses and a draw, while MHS2 endured its second straight defeat.

The game was very competitive and went scoreless in the first half.

KHS actually controlled the pace of the game for the majority of the match, but MHS managed to break free early in the second frame to put the Dolphins ahead, 1-0, on a sneaky counterattack.

KHS pressed on and managed to tie the game in the 20th minute of the period when KHS’ Andrea Camacho rebounded an off target shot and fired home the equalizer.

Then in the last five minutes of regulation MHS2 was called for a handball in the goalie box allowing KHS’ Natasha Quitano to steal the win on a penalty kick.

The season continues at 4:30pm today at Oleai field with the MHS varsity (1-0-0) taking on Saipan Southern High School (0-0-1).
