Man indicted for allegedly stealing mail packs containing iPads, iPhones
An indictment was filed in federal court on Friday, charging a man of stealing mail packages that contained two iPads and two iPhones in 2012 and 2013.
The indictment charged Randy A. Sablan with mail theft, obstruction of mail, and two counts of obstruction of mail.
The indictment also includes a notice that seeks to forfeit to the U.S. government any property derived from proceeds of Sablan’s alleged offense.
The initial hearing will be on Friday at 9:30am.
According to the indictment, on Nov. 19, 2012, Sablan stole and abstracted a package out of the mail addressed to an individual identified by the initials G.G.E.
The mail package, which had been in a post office, contained two iPads.
Between April 27, 2013, and April 30, 2013, Sablan also allegedly embezzled a package that was addressed to a certain P.O. box and contained two iPhones.
The package had been in a post office, the indictment said.
