A teenager was seriously injured after he was allegedly stabbed several times by a man during their fight at Tanapag Beach early Saturday morning.

Donald Wallace Iriarte Seidler, 18, sustained multiple stab wounds in the back, including one that punctured his right lung, causing it to collapse, police said.

The suspect, Dennis Omar Reyes, 21, was arrested for aggravated assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery.

During a hearing yesterday, Superior Court presiding judge Robert C. Naraja imposed a $10,000 cash bail for Reyes’ temporary liberty. He set the preliminary hearing for Dec. 12 at 9am.

Police said preliminary investigation showed that prior to the fight, several persons were drinking alcoholic beverages at the Social Hall of the Tanapag Beach.

Seidler and Reyes’ brother Leroy had an argument and agreed to have a “fair fight.”

Leroy left and when he returned he was accompanied by defendant Reyes and another man.

Reyes and Seidler ended up fighting each other. Leroy was about to jump in to help his brother, but another person held him back.

During the fight, Reyes stabbed the victim with a small knife, police said.

Responding police officers arrested Reyes and recovered the knife from him.

The defendant allegedly admitted to a police officer that he stabbed Seidler with a small knife.

An ambulance brought Seidler to the Commonwealth Health Center. (Ferdie de la Torre)
