Saipan Mayor Juan B. Tudela has announced the opening of the annual County of Maui Art Competition to all junior high and high school students on Saipan.

Every year, the County of Maui participates in the Sister Cities Foundation International Conference. Exciting programs are planned for the conference, among them is a Young Artist Showcase for children in junior high and high school level. The theme for this year is “Your Path To Peace.”

All entries must be received at the Saipan Mayor’s Office in San Antonio no later than 4pm on March 13.

“The 2009 Your Path To Peace is an opportunity for you to express your personal vision of peace. Life is a journey and it is characterized by what you feel, see, hear, think and, most importantly, defined by you,” the Mayor’s Office said in a statement.

For more information about this year’s competition, call Youth Programs coordinator Jemalyn T. Tenorio at 234-6280 or 234-6208 during regular working hours Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm. (PR)
