MVA employees in the spotlight

The Marianas Visitors Authority held its Employee Recognition Awards ceremony on May 10, 2006, to recognize their Employee of the Year, Leadership of the Year and employees who have been employed with MVA for the last 10, 15 and 20 years.

David V. Ada Jr., who is currently a statistics specialist for the Research Division, was awarded the Employee of the Year award for MVA. Ada was the Employee of the Quarter for the 2nd Quarter. He was also recognized for his 10 years of service with the MVA.

“I look forward to 10 more years with MVA,” Ada said.

Joaquin Lizama, accountant/supervisor for the Accounting Division of MVA, received the Leadership Award this year. Lizama has been with the MVA for 17 years. During his tenure with MVA, he has been awarded Employee of the Quarter in 1991 and was also selected as Employee of the Year in 1996.

Other MVA employees who were recognized for their outstanding service with MVA were:

* 10 years of service: Murphy Reyes of MVA Rota, David V. Ada Jr. of MVA Saipan.

* 15 years of service: Damaso Catubay of MVA Rota, Agusto Evangelista and Martin Dueñas of MVA Saipan.

* 20 years of service award was given to Tomas M. Calvo of MVA Rota.

“Our employee recognition program is designed to recognize employees for their hard work and dedication. Their hard work contributes to the overall success of MVA,” said Polly Deleon Guerrero, personnel specialist for MVA.

MVA ensures that their recognition program serves as an incentive for individual motivation toward providing quality service, increasing productivity, job knowledge and skills. Their program is designed to recognize outstanding performance and employee’s contribution toward meeting MVA’s goals and objectives.

All employees honored received a plaque as a form of our appreciation. (PR)
