A teenager was arrested for allegedly burglarizing a car that was parked at a residence in Dandan Homestead Wednesday morning.

Department of Public Safety acting spokesman Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr. said a 16-year-old male Chuukese was detained for burglary and theft.

Blas said responding police officers recovered the stolen stereo system.

Blas said the suspect broke into the vehicle that was parked at a residence and removed the stereo system.

The houseworker saw the suspect and approached him. But the minor fled on foot.

The houseworker immediately informed her employer. The houseworker and the employer looked for the suspect along the roadway.

When they spotted the suspect they called police. The house worker positively identified the teenager as the boy who burglarized the vehicle.
