Shutout galore in Week 9 of 8-Ball League

Four teams swept their rivals in Week 9 of the Budweiser Open 8-Ball League to keep the top two spots in the Agingan and Obyan divisions.

The PTI Voyagers shut out Godfather’s Rock Ready, 4-0, to remain on top of the team standings in the Agingan division with a 27-5 record.

Luis Fajardo, Roman Rodriguez, Jojo Talibong, Amor Zapata, and Jean Cadag won all their games against Rock Steady, which is composed of Bill Pangelinan, Sam Babauta, Gary Pangelinan, Mike Sablan, and Pat Camacho.

Inching closer to the Voyagers were the SaipanCell Hustlers, who improved to a 26-10 slate after sweeping Islander Rent A Car, 4-0.

Delivering victories for the Hustlers were Jerry Soriano, Robert Sanciangco, Erwin Gomez, Joey Lucido, and Senen Pangelinan.

Also winning in Week 9 was Coral Reef Shark Attack, which downed USSP, 3-1. Shark Attack is composed of Pat Taitano, Jerry Ayuyu, Vince Marehan, Bern Kileleman, and Ben Norita. Shark Attack is in fifth place with its 10-26 record, tying Rock Steady.

Wat-Ever remained in fourth place with a 10-22 slate, 11 wins behind Islander Rent a Car, which is in third spot with a 21-15 record.

In the Obyan division, Primo’s Home Boys widened their lead after a 4-0 sweep over the VFW Warriors.

The Home Boys are ahead five wins against the Perfect Spotters, who also shut out Coral Reef Barracuda in the other game, 4-0.

The Home Boys, which are composed of Nolan Cultura, Franz De Luna, Mario Diola, Jorge Lizardo, and Juancho Mendoza, improved to a 26-10 record, while the Perfect Spotters upped their slate to 21-15.

The Perfect Spotters drew wins from Serge Tibupan, Primo Ferrera, Johnny Dagos, Eric Pioz, and Mario Jumalon.

In third place is USSP Fotten Palau, which downed the D’Pirates Huwa, 3-1, for a 19-17 record.

D’Pirates Huwa dropped to fourth place with an 18-18 slate, followed by Barracuda (12-24), and the Warriors (12-24).
