Wish comes true for 13-yr-old Saipan boy
Franklin and his family traveled to Guam for the weekend, with Foundation board members and Saipan residents Kathryn Barry and Vicky Benavente present at the airport to send Franklin and family off.
Before leaving, a group of Saipan employees from the Transportation Security Administration presented Franklin with a gift bag from TSA and their best wishes for his trip to Guam. TSA is always there to send off Saipan Wish Kids with a special token to remember their trip.
“As always, I’d like to thank our many donors whose continuous support makes wishes like Franklin’s come true,” Barry said. “I’d also like to say a special thank you to the immigration folks in Guam and Saipan as well as Continental Airlines for making our wish family feel so special.”
Benavente added: “On behalf of the Hyatt Regency Saipan, we are happy to have assisted in this wish. The proceeds from our annual Club at the Hyatt Golf Classic are used specifically to grant wishes for children from the CNMI.”
Franklin was provided a hotel room courtesy of Hilton Guam Resort & Spa. His wish day was spent shopping for a new laptop, a Sony PSP, video games and clothes. Foundation executive director Victor Camacho escorted Franklin and his family on the shopping spree.
“This and all our other wishes are only made possible through the generous support we receive from our community partners in Guam and the CNMI,” said Camacho.
RunTings Unlimited, producers of the Music, Dance & Wishes II event, featured three dance crews from the hit MTV series America’s Best Dance Crew. Franklin was invited to a private autograph session and to watch the performance as a VIP on Saturday. He joined the crews backstage after their performances and spent some time getting to know all the members of Kaba Modern, Boogie Bots and Fanny Pack. Each crew had a little gift especially for Franklin knowing it was his wish day.
