Manny “The Enforcer” Chong will not see action in Trench Warz IX: The Annihilation and taking his place opposite Myron “The Natural” San Nicolas in Dec. 12’s main event will be Reuben “The Booben” Quinata.

Trench Tech president Cuki Alvarez said Chong has begged off from taking part in the mixed martial arts event because of work, as he is detailed at Guam’s Department of Public Safety.

“Manny Chong unfortunately had to pull out of the main event for Trech Warz IX: The Annihilation due to work-related issues. The Guam Police Department is very short in manpower and Mr. Chong can’t get leave for the event. He also may be leaving off-island for a seminar of some sort for the department on that weekend. He was very sorry,” said Alvarez in an email to the Saipan Tribune.

With Chong’s unavailability, the 215-lb. San Nicolas of Marianas Elite will now face Quinata, who is slightly heavier at 225 lbs. and will be fighting out of Spike 22 Fight Academy Guam.

“Taking Manny Chong’s place will be the current PXC Preba Hao heavyweight champion Reuben Quinata. He holds a professional MMA record of 3-0 and defeated Toby Mesa in October for the heavyweight title of Preba Hao. He claims to be 67-0 in street fighting,” said Alvarez.

San Nicolas sports a win-loss card of 6-1 entering his fight against Quinata.

Aside from the San Nicolas-Quinata matchup, Trench Warz IX: The Annihilation will also have 10 preliminary bouts and one semi main event. Action starts at 6:30pm at the Taga Hall of Saipan World Resort.

One of the 10 preliminary bouts is the first ever MMA fight between women with independent fighter Jen Sambile taking on boxer Tara “Tarantula” Namauleg.

Sambile tips the scales at 123 lbs. and Namauleg is two pounds heavier at 125 lbs. Both are making their MMA debuts.

Namauleg saw action in the boxing match of Gorilla Warfare’s Predator or Prey earlier in the year where she lost to Soledad “The Rebel” Tenorio via unanimous decision.

The rest of the tentative fight card for Trench Warz IX: The Annihilation is as follows:
