The Public School System Central Office is proud to present our nominees for the 2009 education excellence awards. With a system that caters to 1,100 staff, we are truly honored of the nominees’ dedication, commitment, and success in providing quality services to our clients.

Annie Mendiola of the Human Resources Office was selected the overall winner that will represent Central Office in the state competition. When asked how she feels of being the Support Staff for PSS Central Office, Mrs. Mendiola said, “I am happy and proud I was given the honor for being the overall Central Office’s Support Staff of the Year. My family is so proud of me. I have been working for PSS for a long time but I will not get tired of assisting people who are in need of my help”. Other nominees include Jeremiah Benavente of the Erate Program and Probio Cabrera of the Office of the Curriculum and Instruction.

Annie Regis-Mendiola started working for PSS on December 12, 1994. She was chosen as the overall winner of the Central Office because of the recommendation she received from various program managers and colleagues. One of the recommendation states that “Annie exudes a sense of pride and loyalty that I find infectious. Her positive attitude raises a productive work environment to those around her and those who use the human resources department. When having a stressful or bad day, the sight of Annie will always perk me up.” Another person recommends that Annie must be chosen as 2009 state Support Staff because “Annie is proactive, responsive, the best”. Her supervisor said “ Mrs. Mendiola could very well be considered the “glue” that holds the PSS Human Resources Department together”.

Other nominee is Jeremiah Benavente who started working for PSS on August 17, 2006 at the ERate program. His recommendation letter states, “Mr. Benavente is a hard-working person; He takes the initiative to assist everyone with the network and computer problems to get everyone back on track with our daily operation”. Other recommendation states that “ Jeremiah performs his daily tasks with minimal supervision. He has demonstrated his work skills and ethics beyond expectation”.

Probio Cabrera started working for PSS on December 3, 1991. He is now working at the Curriculum and Instruction and was nominated for “he is a hardworking individual committed to his work. With the shortage of staff at the CIA office, he is always willing and ready to extend a helping hand to every program needing his assistance.”
