Burglar takes off with $1,800

The NMI Crime Stoppers recently declared a burglary and theft incident at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Garapan as its Crime of the Week, and is seeking tips from the public.

According to Crime Stoppers coordinator PO2 Eric F. David, responding officers determined that an unknown suspect(s) had entered room 547 from the sliding door on the balcony and stole money from the room.
“The suspect(s) fled the scene with $1,800 in cash,” he said.

David said the incident was reported to the Department of Pubic Safety on Oct. 15 at about 3:44pm by the hotel’s chief security officer, who also disclosed the authorities that “this is not the only incident they have encountered.”
