Research idea before publicizing it
Dr. Camacho is becoming a rich source of information and a credible one at that! I am a student who became very interested in the education programs that had been published recently. One from a group of Dr. Fong and the ambassador from the Philippines, one from the World University headed by the former NMC president.
You know what I think? I think these people are just jumping on the bandwagon and trying to follow our NMC president Tony Guerrero’s worthy programs. His education program with another, more credible group from California is one that should draw more attention since it supports NMC’s programs and what the article says is not competing with it. No need to reinvent the wheel. Support president Guerrero!
I am not saying that their ideas are not worthy of attention. I am merely saying that if there is an existing program, why not support it, maybe donate to it, maybe supplement NMC’s need to strengthen its position in the education community. The problem with the programs that had been recently sensationalized by so many groups is that they seem to jump in without having a concrete plan. The students—the presumed beneficiaries of these programs—are getting frustrated by having our hopes brought up one time and then dashed the next time Dr. Camacho analyzes the situation. What’s going on is that plans are publicized way before these groups could actually do research on them. Sad but true.
I hope those who seem to be very interested in education be more interested in laying out their plans first before having their ideas published. The more concrete plan right now is the one where the NMC president is working on with the California group. Any more news about them? We are following this up because we want to participate if it will be available in the island.
