Saipan Mayor Juan B. Tudela is inviting people to a solemn observance of the Holocaust or “Days of Remembrance: with this year’s theme, “From Liberation to the Pursuit of Justice.”

“The Holocaust reminds us of the horrific events more than 60 years ago when Jews and others were subjected to persecution by the tyranny of Nazi Germany all over Europe,” he said.

To memorialize the Holocaust events, Tudela will sign a mayoral proclamation designating the week of May 1-8, 2005, as Days of Remembrance on Saipan on April 27, at 3:30pm, followed by a Memorial Service ceremony on May 6, 2005, at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe from 6pm to 7pm.

Public officials, schools religious groups and the general public are invited to attend the Memorial Service ceremony on May 6.
