Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho garnered the lowest score for the Championship Flight of the 11th Annual San Roque Golf Tournament held last May 29 at the Marianas Country Club Resort in Marpi.

Camacho carded a gross score of one-over 73 to win the top prize of the San Roque Parish-organized golf tournament.

Former Superior Court presiding judge Ed Manibusan and Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s Sasaki Oliver finished tied at second place with identical gross score of six-over 78s. Manibusan, however, edged Oliver on a scorecard tiebreak to take second place, while Oliver settled for third.

Benjamin Jones, meanwhile, duplicated Camacho’s feat in the A Flight after carding a superb gross score of six-over 78. Jones beat namesake Ben Duenas (83) and James Balajadia (89) for the victory.

John Cepeda ruled B Flight following a gross score of nine-over 81. Second place went to Henry Seki, who finished with an 83, while third place went to John “Pan” Guerrero, who managed a gross score of 88.

C Flight saw John Matsumoto rule the roost with a 94 followed by Ed Sablan’s 95 and Larry Guerrero’s 101. Ladies Flight had Frances Sablan and Pas Younis take home the top honors with 114 and 141, respectively.

Seniors Flight, which among the six flights was the only one that utilized a handicap, was led by Greg Sablan, Tony Salas, and Ed Flores. Sablan recorded a net score of 64 (77 gross), Salas a 66 (78), and Flores a 68 (82).

All the winners mentioned above are requested to pick up their trophies at the Marianas Country Club. For more information about the 11th Annual San Roque Golf Tournament, call Frank Camacho at 483-0309.
