CUC load shedding schedule for rest of the week

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has issued a load shedding schedule for the rest of the week, to take out hotels, garments and small business from the distribution schedule—to include 2nd partial under Feeder #2, should the generation capacity not meet the load demand. CUC said it will be taking out Feeder #2 because there is no school under this feeder.

Aug. 10, 2005 (Wednesday)

Lateral under Kiya #2 outage will be from 10am to 12 noon. The affected areas are MGM Garment at Chalan Piao and STI at As Lito (if needed).

Kiya #2 outage will be from 3pm to 5pm, 2nd partial only. The areas affected are WSR Elementary School, Tun Doi, Fina Sisu, part of As Perdido and Chalan Piao.

Feeder #4 outage will be from 5pm to 7p, 2nd partial only. The following areas are affected: Capitol Hill, Tapochau, As Teo, I Denni, Papago, Kagman I, II, and III.

Kiya #4 outage will be from 7pm to 9pm, 2nd partial only. The following areas are affected: Saipan Community School, Sister Remedio Susupe and Chalan Kanoa.

Aug. 11, 2005 (Thursday)

Lateral under Feeder #2 outage will be from 10am to 12 noon. The affected areas are B&R at Chalan Laulau and MVA Oleai (if needed).

Feeder #3 outage will be from 3pm to 5pm, 2nd partial only. The following areas are affected: Gualo Rai, Chalan Laulau and part of Chalan Kiya.

Feeder #7 outage will be from 6pm to 7pm, 2nd partial only. The following areas are affected: San Roque Elementary, Achugao, San Roque, As Matuis and Marpi.

Kiya #1 outage will be from 7pm to 9pm, 3rd partial only and some of the lateral under 1st and 2nd partial. The affected areas are CPA Airport, As Gonno, As Perdido, Koblerville Elementary School and Saipan Southern High School.

Aug. 12, 2005 (Friday)

Lateral under Feeder #3 outage will be from 10am to 12 noon. The area affected is East West Rental at Chalan Laulau (if needed).

Kiya #4 outage will be from 3pm to 5pm, 2nd partial only. The following areas are affected: Saipan Community School, Sister Remedio Susupe and Chalan Kanoa.

Feeder #2 outage will be from 5pm to 7pm, 2nd partial only. The following areas are affected: Garapan Beach Road (Kristo Rai) and Chalan Laulau.

Kiya #2 outage will be from 7pm to 9pm, 2nd partial only. The following areas are affected: WSR Elementary School, Tun Doi, Fina Sisu, part of As Perdido, and Chalan Piao.

“In case the load under 2nd partial can’t accommodate the load needed, we might be tripping the 1st partial also to avoid overloading on our units. The reason for the outage is that we are under-generating as Unit #3 and Unit #4 at Power Plant I are down with 6.0 MW each,” CUC said in a statement.
