PIC renovates facilities to the tune of $1.5M
The Pacific Islands Club on Saipan is investing some $1.5 million to renovate its facilities.
“We always want to keep that image as top hotel,” said PIC general manager Jerry John.
The PIC, which is popular among tourists and residents for its waterpark and lunch buffet, will have a new swimming pool equipped with waterslide, fountains, seesaw and interactive toys for kids and toddlers. It will be known as the Siheky’s Splash Zone.
The ongoing renovation includes PIC’s façade and the construction of a two-tiered driveway.
It also aims to have a more spacious lobby, with an extension of the observation deck for a better view of the PIC facility. The lobby will have new furniture—both traditional and modern—that will not only add color to the area but also make guests feel more comfortable.
John disclosed that the renovation would be completed by September. He also said that the hotel’s 16 ocean-view rooms are being refurbished, to be completed by October.
John said the PIC management has been planning the renovations regardless of the improvements being undertaken by other hotels.
“We always have a plan to do it,” John said. “It’s best to do it now so we’ll benefit from it when business is good.”
Despite the ongoing constructions, the hotel has been enjoying the highest occupancy among Saipan hotels in the past months.
