US Army’s Camacho is honored
The 8th Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council has adopted a resolution commending U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Vincent Flores Camacho “for his bravery, courage, and determination to uphold the U.S. Armed Forces’ goal to secure peace, freedom and democracy in Iraq.”
Camacho enlisted with the U.S. Army on February 2003 and was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Rakkasans, 101 Airborne Division. He was deployed to Afghanistan in May 2003 to May 2004 and Iraq in 2005 to 2006 for a tour of duty. In Iraq, Camacho was a command sergeant major for the 3rd Brigade Combat Team. He is a recipient of a Bronze Star medal.
Camacho, the son of proud parents Vicente S. Camacho (dec.) and Estefania F. Camacho, is married to Rose Marie Pangelinan and they are blessed with four children: Ruarke Anthony, Cierra, Sienna, and Rhodrick Ayden.
“The members of the Municipal Council join the people of the CNMI in extending special recognition, congratulation and commendation to [Camacho] for safeguarding and protecting the lives of his fellow Americans. Further, the members of the council and the people of the CNMI join the family members in their prayers to our almighty Lord to bestow unto [Camacho] and other members of the U.S. Armed Forces serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and other dangerous posts eternal safety, security and successful mission in securing global peace, freedom and democracy for all races and ages,” part of the resolution reads.
It was certified by municipal council chair Gregorio V. Deleon Guerrero and vice chair David A. Indalecio and attested by secretary Antonia M. Tudela.
Many men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces were deployed and are currently deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan and other dangerous posts to secure global peace, freedom and democracy. (PR)
