Micro Games underwater spear fishing trials set
Organizers of the underwater spear fishing competition for this year’s 6th Micronesian Games will be holding an open tryout next month.
This according to primary organizer Richard B. Seman, who said in a statement that the spear fishing committee will host the trials on April 22 to determine who will fill the three slots allotted for the CNMI in the competition.
Seman said all interested individuals must first get an application form, which is available at the Division of Fish and Wildlife and the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium. Individuals must fill and submit an application to the Division of Fish and Wildlife no later than 4pm on April 19.
Details of eligibility and rules of the event will be included with the application form.
The Micronesian Games will be held from June 23 to July 3 on Saipan. About 1,200 to 1,500 athletes and coaches are expected to participate in the quadrennial event, which will feature delegations from the CNMI, Guam, Palau, Chuuk, Kosrae, Yap. Pohnpei, Marshall Islands, Nauru, and Kiribati.
