So what else is new?
As expected, Senator Ramon S. Guerrero (Kumoi) is miffed at the challenge of his grand vacuous claim. This while some of his colleagues shiver in the cold sea of influence peddling to save a friend in trouble with labor laws.
It has never been my intention to be crusty nor catch the other beasts in the Senate off guard in their supposed finest hour. But the consistent employment of self-concocted politics of worry and deceit, including the arrogance of adolescency are enough reasons to put them on their toes. After all, guarding the public’s interest is one of the primary functions of the press.
Interesting that they don’t know that we know that they know NOT, but forge ahead as though the rest of this community is ignorant of their shallow and hollow politics.
No sir! I will not allow trashy political rhetoric to spread like wild fire where truth demands its rightful role and place.
But then, so what else is new in this department other than the guys nursing their bruised ego, struggling to survive against exposure of irrelevancy while tip-toeing for administrative forgiveness of friends in trouble with labor laws?

The governor of Osaka resigned last December when found guilty of sexual harassment–fondled a volunteer in the back of a van–enroute to the campaign trail.
There’s also a mistress of a high Chinese official sentenced to life in prison for a highly publicized corruption case that ended in the death penalty of the official.
Gee, this brings into focus our teeny versions of Romeos in paradise who have flaunted promiscuity. These sexual escapades include fathering kids with mistresses and employees, sleeping in one of two places every change in the weather, or fun shower with the live-in-maid when the wife heads out the front door.
Sounds strangely familiar, huh, guys?
Gals, bring your hubbies to church and have them review the Ten Commandments. While at it, tell `em that this set of laws can’t be withdrawn, amended, repealed nor conveniently interpreted to soothe their twisted moral compass, di ba?

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) seem to be on the rebound. At a barracks, rumors has it that some 50 men (out of 240), contracted venereal disease (VD) from young girls doing nocturnal solicitation at a very inexpensive rate.
The barracks had to be placed on full security to discourage friendly night prowlers from making their rounds. We ought to bring in Jeff Schorr so he could report that the world’s oldest profession (allegedly non-existent in the US mainland) is in Spring Season in this territory.
But then he’s the eyes and ears of Interior’s OIA. So what else is new?

Health remains a big ticket item for any and all governments. If you follow the national debate, issues under discussion (patients’ rights vs. medical care with HMOs) flies over an average citizen’s head. The only time that it matters to any of us is when confronted with critical congenital birth defects, catastrophic cases, or long term illnesses that drain family resources.
The issue of the role of Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) can no longer be skirted nor ignored. There are local cases where CHC and an HMO agreed on off-island treatment where the latter subsequently refuses to pay for medical bills. Its argument: Patient would have to be treated at its own clientele hospital.
This is just the tip of the iceberg that has started moving into the shores of these isles. The labyrinth of critical issues however make it the more important that we begin deliberative discussions on the future of health care in these isles. Let’s start, now!
