The PCB fiasco

It isn’t surprising how the federal government (with the exception of the Army Corps of Engineers) has employed foot-dragging in its fiduciary obligation to clean-up the PCB mess in Tanapag Village.

In recent years, the US Department of Interior has taken on an agenda (federal takeover) dedicating all its energy and resources to justifying ruination of the livelihood of this group of US Citizens.

In the process, it neglected its fiduciary responsibility to clean-up the PCB contamination here. It would be interesting to probe whether it also took part in a silent conspiracy discouraging appropriate federal agencies from promptly addressing and resolving this mess.

Interesting too that the CNMI is the one flag territory that was never given the requisite assistance under the pentagons “super funds” to detonate and clear these isles of World War II bombs and other dangerously deadly ordnance. Guam has been accorded such funds.
The CNMI has effectively been overlooked as to force the local government to tell investors to shoulder the hefty cost of detonation and cleaning.

All these depict the awfully nimble ability of Interior’s OIA to assume policy roles solely the preserve of the US Congress. The net effect of purposeful neglect of its fiduciary obligation has translated in the protracted clean-up of the PCB mess and WWII bombs and ordnance.

This dereliction of fiduciary obligation–for the past eight year–has resulted in the unnecessary wastes of both US mainland and local taxpayers money. It is so prompted by a departmental agenda unheard of in US History where economic self-support stands total ruination from detractors who have failed to read, understand and honor the very essence of the Covenant Agreement guaranteeing self-government.

But we’re hopeful and optimistic that someday soon (when George W. takes over the White House), some semblance of justice is accorded these isles to clean-up the PCB mess and file, in the ash heap of history, the egregious agenda to ruin the livelihood of this group of US Citizens. Si Yuus Maase`!
