Inaugural Mayor’s Cup golf tournament
The Saipan Mayor’s Office is sponsoring the inaugural Mayor’s Cup this today, at the Marianas Country Club Golf Course. The tournament gets underway with a shotgun start at noon, and players will be using the 18-hole Medal Play with the low net score taking the prize.
The entry fee for the one-day tourney will be $100. Entry forms for the tournament may be picked up at the Marianas Country Club or the Saipan Mayor’s Office. The deadline to submit the entries and fees is today. Registration starts at 10:30am and continues until noon. For more information, contact Manny Tenorio or Richard Maratita by calling 234-6211.
Northwest Airlines golf tourney this tomorrow
Northwest Airlines will sponsor the NWA Invitational Golf Tournament tomorrow, at the Lao Lao Bay Resort Club west course.
Showtime for the event will be at 11am and shotgun start is schedule at 12 noon.
Organizers would be using an 18-hole, four-player scramble, Double Peoria format for the tournament and cash prizes will be given away in the tournament. Entry fee is $100.

106th RP Independence golf tomorrow
The Fil-Taga Golfers Association will host the Philippine Independence Day Golf Tournament tomorrow, at the Coral Ocean Point Resort golf course.
Tournament fee is $100, which is inclusive of green fee and invitation to a dinner banquet at the COP poolside on the evening. Showtime for the Philippine Independence Day Golf Tournament is scheduled at 10:30am.
Rota sets Father’s Day golf tourney
Rota Golf Association is informing all golfers that there will be a Father’s Day Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 19, at the Rota Resort and Country Club.

Silver Streak strikes again
The 11th Annual Tom Picarro Memorial Fun Run will be held Saturday, June 19, at 6am.
The 4.2-mile run is in memory of the former president of DFS Saipan and avid runner, P. Thomas Picarro.
There will be a $5 registration fee, and all of the proceeds will be given to a local charity. There will be several age divisions and prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as first place over all men and woman. T-shirts will be given to the first 175 finishers.

PACRIM tourney back again
The Pacific Rim Youth Goodwill Tournament will be returning for its third installment later this year, as basketball and volleyball players from around the region will once again be competing at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium in Oleai.
Participants from the CNMI, Japan, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, Hawaii, the Philippines, and the Republic of Belau are invited to take part in all of the scheduled festivities.
The tournament is scheduled to begin Saturday, November 20, continuing through the next Saturday, November 27.
All teams are encouraged to register early in either Division I (12-14 years old), or Division II (15-18 years old). Registration fee is $100.00 per team.
