SML playoffs pushed to Monday
Three months of Saipan Major League baseball have come down to two weeks of postponements for the first round showdown between the Miller Lite Brewers and the Pirates at Francisco M. Palacios Baseball Field.
All that is needed now is a little cooperation from Mother Nature to get the teams in the swing of things once again after the weekend.
Last night’s SML baseball playoff match was again postponed due to poor field conditions caused by the heavy rains that have been plaguing the island for the last week according to Brewers’ manager Tony Rogolifoi.
The good news is that last few days have been relatively rain free, allowing the field conditions to improve a bit. With any luck the first round of the playoffs will be a go for the scheduled 6:30pm start on Monday at Francisco M. Palacios field.
When the games finally do get underway, all of the runs, hits, and errors will be broadcast live, in their entirety on local radio station KRSI FM 97.9 The Rock.
Game 2 is scheduled to be played Wednesday, June 23, and a third game will be played Friday, June 25, if necessary. All games are set for 6:30 starts at the Palacios field.
