The Saipan Walking Association Inc. will be painting the island red by celebrating the day of hearts with its 4th Annual Valentine’s Walk this coming Saturday, Feb. 12, starting at 6am from the north parking lot of Coral Ocean Point Resort.

According to SAIWAI event coordinator Mario K. Espeleta the course of the walk will lead participants from COP to the southern part of the island passing the As Gonno road to the airport then to the Ladder beach and Obyan Beach all the way to the junction of Dan Dan and Hawaiian Rock roads and back.

The 10-kilometer Valentine’s Walk is held annually as part of SAIWAI’s yearly activities that promotes good health and camaraderie in the CNMI community.

A registration fee of $6 will be charged to each participant who will be entitled to free refreshments and event T-shirts. A fireworks display would also be held after the walk.

Like most SAIWAI activities, the International Federation of Popular Sports or IVV will be sanctioning the Heart of the Marianas Fitness Fair Walk.

IVV members also receive credit for joining the event. The IVV has member-walking clubs in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Nepal, Australia, New Zealand, the CNMI and 29 other European countries.
