Super Bowl parties take priority this morning
A season’s worth of anticipation and prognostication in the National Football League has come down to a few hours of festive competition, as the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles prepare for Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, Florida, this morning.
As business owners and office managers across the CNMI know all too well, several members of the local work force have come down with a mysterious illness that can only be treated at one of the several facilities properly equipped with the necessary food and liquid nourishment.
While thousands have flocked to the southeast corner of the mainland to attend any one of the many Super Bowl-related festivities, Saipan-based companies started tackling the task of preparing activities for the local football fan-base weeks ago.
According to Mike Babauta of Pacific Trading Co., the local importer of Miller Lite and Coors Light will put on two parties at two different locales.
“We have already made arrangements with the Pacific Islands Club and the Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach to host the daylong event. We will feature two of our top-selling products, as the Miller Lite party will be held at the PIC, and the Coors Light party will be at the Dai Ichi,” said Babauta.
Both facilities will be offering plenty off eats and drinks, and the same goes for those who venture out to the Hafa Adai Beach Hotel this year for Bud Bowl 2005. MarPac Distributing announced that they will be putting on a celebration for the big game with their two top-selling products, Budweiser and Bud Light.
According to Jojo Camacho of the promotions department, the doors to the Fiesta Hall will open at 8am Monday morning, and fans will have a great time.
“This will be the biggest Bud Bowl ever. We are going to give away a ton of prizes, and make this the biggest and baddest sporting event in the Marianas,” said Camacho.
Those in attendance also stand to win an assortment of prizes from all three venues, as the promotion directors plan to distribute more than just food, drinks and entertainment.
Other smaller but not necessarily less enthused establishments would also be holding their own unique Super Bowl parties.
AJ’s Restaurant, for instance, will give away raffle prizes as much as $1,250 in its own celebration of the gridiron. Food and beverage would also be overflowing in Super Bowl parties at the Aqua Resort Club, Hamilton’s and many others throughout Saipan.
