DPS upcoming checkpoints

In continuing efforts to deter motorists from driving while intoxicated and protect vehicle occupants, the Department of Public Safety will conduct checkpoints beginning this Friday.

According to the DPS Traffic Section, a sobriety checkpoint will be set up on Beach Road Chalan Lau Lau on Feb. 11, 2005. The checkpoint will begin at 9:30pm and end at 10:45pm.

DPS will then conduct an occupant protection and child restraint checkpoint on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2005 on Beach Road Susupe by the Minachom Atdao Pavilion. The checkpoint begins at 9am and ends at 10:15am.

In addition to the checkpoints, traffic officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser activities.
