The Rota legislative delegation said that any shortage of flight seats to and from Rota will be solved by early next month when Cape Air finally begins to use a bigger aircraft twice daily.

Delegation chair Sen. Diego M. Songao said yesterday that Cape Air has confirmed that it would use its 46-seater plane beginning May 5.

“Once we have that in place, the seating capacity going to Rota won’t be any problem, plus they also have their Cessna, a nine-seater, that can be chartered at any time, according to Cape Air,” said Songao.

Right now, the airline is using a nine-seater plane twice daily from Saipan via Guam: one in the morning and another one in late afternoon.

Freedom Air also provides twice-a-day flights to Rota from Saipan.

“So as far as transportation is concerned, I feel that we won’t be having any problems,” said the senator.
