Wakai Nekko No Kai to host two NMC students
Hideo Kato, president of the Tokyo-based Wakai Nekko No Kai Ocean University program, recently announced the participation of two Northern Marianas College students in its upcoming 37th annual voyage from Tokyo to Saipan.
Clarissa Campos, currently pursuing an associate degree in business management, and Rose Marie Jones, an education major nearing completion of her bachelor’s degree, have been selected to travel to Japan on May 28 to participate in the educational cultural exchange program.
This year marks the 18th consecutive year that Wakai Nekko No Kai has sponsored CNMI students’ participation in its weeklong Ocean University voyage. The students will be joining approximately 300 Japanese visitors, who are scheduled to arrive at the Saipan port on May 4.
Over the past 37 years, Wakai Nekko No Kai has brought over 15,800 Japanese visitors to the CNMI as part of its Ocean University cultural exchange program.
Pacific Development, Inc. and the Marianas Visitors Authority, along with the CNMI-WNNK committee composed of representatives from NMC; Marianas, Saipan Southern, and Kagman high schools; Mt. Carmel School, Grace Christian Academy, the Governor’s Office, and the Mayor’s Office of Saipan are working hard to organize a successful cultural exchange. (PR)
