Protection for local workers

No wonder it is impossible for local workers to get decent paying jobs in the private sector. Why should an employer hire a local worker at a decent wage with benefits when there are desperate, homeless nonresident workers roaming the streets looking for work under any conditions?

Local workers need protection. They need to be able to compete in the labor force for jobs that will allow them to build homes and send their children to college. The Department of Labor needs to read the Nonresident Workers Act carefully and enforce it. Hold the employers responsible. Make them comply with the law by not hiring nonresident workers as long as there are local workers registered with Employment Services.

A “good economy” is only possible when there are decent jobs with decent wages in the private sector.
