The Refaluwasch Golf Association has again rescheduled its Saipan Little League Fundraising Golf Tournament to July 16.

RGA president Jess Wabol said he is pushing the tournament for a month to allow the Little League to complete its 2005 season.

The Saipan Little League Fundraising Golf Tournament was originally scheduled on June 11 then pushed a week later to June 18 before RGA moved the event to its current postponement next month.

Wabol said the competition, which is being organized on behalf of the Saipan and Tinian Little League associations, would still be held at the Coral Ocean Point Resort golf course.

The RGA president said the tournament will use a double Peoria format and would award cash prizes of $500 for first place, $400 for second place, $300 for third place, and $200 for fourth place. RGA would also give away in-kind prizes to lower place finishers.

Wabol said proceeds from the tournament will be used to purchase trophies, medals, and other mementos for young baseball players participating in the junior hardball competitions on Saipan and Tinian.

He also said that money raised from the event would also help defray the cost of hosting the Asia-Pacific Regional Little League Tournament on Tinian in the next couple of months.
