Crews from the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. and the Governor’s Water Task Force worked on Tuesday this week to optimize a water well in Isley Field as part of efforts to ensure improved water service in the island.

According to Lt. Gov. Diego T. Benavente, the task force replaced Isley Field Well No. 5’s drop pipes and pump.

“We continue to assist CUC in the optimization of all water wells,” said Benavente, who also heads the task force.

Work started Tuesday morning and was finished on the same day. A joint Water Task Force-CUC crew worked the site with heavy equipment, including a derrick truck, where Well No. 5 was completely restored to service.

The Isley Field well is part of a network of wells supplying the island with water.

The Water Task Force and CUC have committed to continue working toward optimization and maintenance of all water wells to ensure the best delivery of service to water consumers. (PR)
