Wall to wall paint at Raiders

There’s nowhere to hide when the marking marauders gather this weekend to participate in the eighth installment of the monthly CNMI Inter-Island Paintball Tournament at Raiders Field in As Matuis.

The real colors of fake war will be on display this Saturday, Aug. 20, as teams from Saipan and Tinian vie for a slot in the year end invitation only tournament by dodging the multi-hued flurry of flak down range.

This time around the teams from Saipan will have to redeem themselves as a raiding force from across the channel dominated the tournament when the Pacific Predators of Tinian ruled the field.

“They’re the only team from Tinian and they took the trophy from us. Only one team and we still couldn’t beat them,” said July’s tournament director Mike Reuters.

Now the stage is set for a rematch, as the dash from 55-gallon drum to 55-gallon drum will be well supported with volunteers, scorers, and a host of revenge-minded teams.

“We’re not sure about the teams, but last time field was full, so it’s important to enter as soon as possible,” said tournament director Norma Reuter.

The cost of registration is $10 to enter your squad into the color war, with an additional $5 fee for marker rental if necessary. The pre-spree briefing takes place at 10am, and the games start at 11am.
