MVA, Asiana continue with volume incentive program
The Marianas Visitors Authority and Asiana Airlines have continued to promote the Volume Incentive Program for Korea travel agents.
Since its inception in 2003, it has contributed to the agent’s sales performance, despite the limited seats on Asiana Airlines.
In recognition of their sales performances, each travel agency will receive advertising support from the MVA as well as a free roundtrip ticket to the Marianas courtesy of Asiana Airlines. During the period of April-May, 2005, the Volume Incentive Program captured 5,097 passengers from 10 participating travel agents, with only (5) five travel agents exceeding the 10-percent quota and (2) agencies exceeding the 20 percent quota.
“This marketing approach with the airline proves successful and MVA will continue with this effort to ensure we not only show support to the airline, but the travel agents who sell the CNMI as a premiere tourist destination,” said MVA managing director Vicky Benavente.
This program works by tiers of passenger sales with the top 10 travel agents in Korea. The MVA and Asiana Airlines reward travel agents for their excellent sales exceeding 10 percent and 20 percent from their regular sales months. Travel agents who exceed the quotas receive advertising support from the MVA for advertising the destination and incentive tickets from Asiana Airlines for their excellent performance. (PR)
