Thanks for the quick response

Greetings to you! I have been on Saipan for almost 10 months now, and love this island. However, I had gone to see the Old Japanese Jail several times since January 2005 and it was always a big mess. Grass and weeds were taller than I am! I went to the museum and asked who is responsible for cutting weeds and grass, and general cleaning. After making several phone calls to different departments, I finally spoke with Tony Benavente, director of the Division of Parks and Recreations. He said he was not aware of the Old Japanese Jail being in such a mess, and assured me he would look into the situation. That was on a Friday (about two weeks ago) and by the following Tuesday it was clean. All weeds and grass cut, and trash picked up.

I just want to say thank you, Mr. Benavente for such quick response! I hope the area will stay looking that great! I have taken several visitors (friends) from Japan to see the site.

Now, if we could just get the junk cars removed!
