Marianas Idol auditions at Club V
All singing enthusiasts in the CNMI are invited to audition for the upcoming Marianas Idol III of the Northern Marianas College Charter Day to be held tomorrow evening from 6pm to 10pm at Club V.
The NMC Charter Day Committee held a meeting yesterday to finalize the activities for this Friday and Saturday’s celebration of the community college’s silver founding anniversary.
NMC Student Activity Center, Students Activities and Leadership director, and Charter Day Committee chair Edwin K. Propst said interested individuals age 15 and above, whether from Rota, Tinian, or Saipan, could join the auditions.
The audition would only be held for one night in preparation for the contest proper on Friday and Saturday.
Application forms can be obtained from the NMC Charter Day Committee or at Club V before the audition time. Propst said there are already some contestants who have enlisted and submitted applications for the auditions tomorrow.
Propst said only 10 contestants would be selected in tomorrow’s audition and they will be competing in the semifinals this Friday. From the 10, said Propst, only five would advance to the finals on Saturday.
High school students are encouraged to participate in the auditions tomorrow.
Prizes for this year’s Marianas Idol III grand champion include $1,000 courtesy of Pacific Trading Co. Ltd. Consolation prizes include cellular phones from Pacific Telecom Inc. and gift certificates from Shell Marianas.
Last year’s winner was Jackie Orpiano, who bested nine remarkable talents in the Commonwealth.
