Alleged domestic fight ends in car accident

A woman was seriously injured on the head in a car accident that allegedly was triggered after a domestic fight with her husband along Beach Road, Chalan Laulau Friday night.

The victim, described as a local, was taken by an ambulance to the Commonwealth Health Center, while the suspect fled on foot, the Saipan Tribune learned.

Initial police investigation showed that the couple along with a man was on board a red car traveling south direction on Beach Road at 9:15pm.

The couple had a domestic fight in the car. The vehicle proceeded to the parking lot in front of Megabyte and struck into a pole.

The car’s windshield cracked when the victim’s head slammed into it and as a result of the impact.

Profusely bleeding, the victim ran to the middle of the highway apparently to seek help. She then ran to Star Water building located a few meters away where she asked for help.

The suspect on the other hand, ran away, police said.

Responding medical technicians treated the victim then transported her to CHC. Medics were also seen checking up the witness inside an ambulance.

Bloodstains were observed all over the highway leading to Star Water building.

There were no other details available. It was not clear as of press time whether the suspect was arrested. (Ferdie de la Torre)
