APAFS sets Country Conference in Palau
The Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies is continuing its 2009 series of Country Conferences for fiduciaries of investment funds throughout the region. APAFS will be holding the 2nd Annual Palau Country Conference on Friday May 1, 2009, at the Ngarayameyong Cultural Center.
An APAFS Country Conference is a one-day affair that provides educational sessions on topics specifically requested by members in their respective jurisdictions. The topics and session leaders for this year’s Palau Country Conference include:
The Prudent Process: Managing Fiduciary Responsibility: Philip Mendiola-Long, AIF, president, Sherman Consulting;
The Effect of the Economic Crisis on Retirement Plans in the Region: David J. John, president, ASC Trust Company;
Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies – Update on our Mission: Gerard A. Cruz, chairman, APAFS;
Financial Crisis on a Global Scale: Jason B. Miyashita, AIF, CRPS, Citi Smith Barney/ Consulting Group;
Domestic and International Capital Markets Outlook: James D. Staub, senior vice president, Atalanta Sosnoff Capital Corp.
The Palau conference will be the fifth of the series of regional conferences for 2009, which will culminate in the 9th Annual Pacific Region Investment Conference to be held in Manila, the Philippines, on Oct. 8 and 9 at the Renaissance Hotel, Makati.
