Soudelor leads top stories of 2015

The wide-ranging destruction and cost in property damage wrought by Typhoon Soudelor in August, together with the several months it took to restore some semblance of normalcy to Saipan and the scores of people who still remain homeless up to now made this natural disaster the top story of 2015, based on a Saipan Tribune tally of the most significant events that took place this year.

Coming in a close second was the untimely passing of Gov. Eloy S. Inos, who succumbed to diabetes just two days ago, Dec. 29, in Seattle, Washington, and the unprecedented ascendancy of Lt. Gov. Ralph DLG Torres to the governorship.
