The Division of Immigration filed deportation cases yesterday against five alleged overstaying tourists who were recently found illegally working at Rifu Apparel Corp. in As Lito.

According to Immigration officer Erwin Flores, Manying Mao, Ju Liu, Guolan Lu, Dongping Yang, and Yingzi Huang failed to renew or extend their entry permit and failed to depart the CNMI.

Flores said the respondents, all Chinese women, were arrested and found working for Rifu Apparel Corp. in As Lito without authorization from the Department of Labor.

The Immigration officer said Mao was issued a visitor’s entry permit which expired on Sept. 5, 2004; Liu’s expired on Jan. 26, 2005; Lu’s on Jan. 15, 2005; Yang’s on Aug. 12, 2004; and Huang’s on Sept. 12, 2004.

The respondents, Flores said, have no standing or pending cases with Labor.

Authorities arrested 55 alien workers during a raid at Rifu Apparel and R&B Corp. in Chalan Kanoa on April 27 for allegedly engaging in unlawful employment and immigration fraud.
