17 NHB fights in tomorrow’s Trench Warz

After months of preparation, Trench Tech Purebred Saipan will host the third edition of Trench Warz tomorrow at the martial arts school’s gym.

According to event coordinator Cuki Alvarez, a total of 17 no-holds barred fights make up the event, dubbed as Trench Warz III: Commotion.

“Everything is all set for another night of rock and roll in the cage,” Alvarez said. “We’re getting the gym ready and we should get the bleachers by [today]. We’ll have six bleachers this time…last time we only had five, so we’re looking at getting more people in here.”

Alvarez said about 600 tickets were printed and sold for the event, which also serves as a fundraiser for the upcoming 6th Micronesian Games.

The evening will kick off with two pre-fights as Arthur Reyes of Trench Tech opens things up with Lee Reyes in the 135-lbs weight class. J.D. Reyes, who sports a 2-0 record, will then face Ron Chisato in the 185-lbs weight class. Both Reyes and Chisato are making their debuts.

Following will be the action between Guam’s Eric Cepeda (2-1) of Spike 22 as he faces Saipan street fighter J.J. Maliti.(0-1). Ken “Terror” Tanzawa (0-1) of Trench Tech makes his NHB debut as he takes on Ferdinand Fitial (0-2), and Power 99’s Alexio Evangelista will then make his debut against Jay “Furbs” Santos (2-0).

The big guys will then take center stage as “Suicide” Cliff Masga of Trench Tech (3-0) battles “Kill” Bill Saures (1-0) of Dragon Tribe, while fellow TT fighter George “G-Unit” David (1-0) battles Lucio Omar with both making their NHB debuts.

For his part, Jason “Rush” Tarkong (2-1) will be taking John Borja, while James Blas (1-1) will follow against Salik Ittu, who also makes his debut.

There will be another Saipan-Guam battle as Giovanni Sablan (2-0) of Trench Tech faces Mike Taitano of Spike 22 in the 10th bout of the evening, with both entering at 150 lbs and Taitano making his first fight.

Danny Atalig of Trench Tech and Herman Duenas of Graccie Barra will then make their NHB debuts after competing in the earlier Trench Warz in boxing, submission, and kickboxing, while Jordan Palacios makes his debut against Tony Borja (1-1) of Spike 22 Guam.

Roland Delos Reyes and Frank Robert will be next to hit the cage, while Welsin Apaisam and John Babauta (1-0) show their stuff in the 14th bout.

Trench Tech’s Frank “The Crank” Camacho (3-0) will also make his third fight appearance in Trench Warz against Robert Palacios (0-1).

It will then be time for the semi main event with Kelvin “The Big Hit” Fitial (0-2) returning to the cage to face Luka Tapuaialupe, who is making his debut.

After all the mentioned fights, the action kicks into another level for the main event which will feature Slade “Rage” Adelbai (2-0) challenging Ton “Xcalibur” Nekaifes.

Adelbai enters at 250 lbs and Nekaifes at 270 lbs .

Doors open at 6pm with the first fight getting underway as soon as the crowd settles.
