Ying Yang Clan has bing-bang plan
The Ying Yang Clan and “Chair Man” Max Kuan continued its undefeated streak on Tuesday night by putting it to Just Put It In in straight sets in a combined 33-13 slap-fest in continuation of the 7th Annual Spring Co-ed Four’s Beach Volleyball League at the Pacific Islands Club.
Kuan’s Clannies came out firing on all cylinders by smoking Just Put It In 11-0 in the opening set to take an early advantage before clinching the win with an 11-7 score in the second.
Rather than relax with the win in hand, the Clan completed the sweep with an 11-6 victory in the third set to improve to 8-0, while the In-crowd slipped to 4-4.
Eight games through the season, Kuan’s Clan has won the most sets (22) and is at the forefront of the scoring race with an unrivaled 261 points, while continuing to boast the fewest points against with 104 balls on their side of the court.
Just Put It In seeks redemption tonight against the MHS Dolphin Divers at 6:30pm, while the Clan looks to extend its unbeaten streak to nine games next Tuesday, June 13, against Lite U Up at 7:30pm.
Chafed Grundle 2, MHS Dolphin Divers 1
Despite missing their captain for the umpteenth time in a row, Chafed Grundle crept into fourth place in the standings by schooling the students of Marianas High School with a win over the MHS Dolphin Divers.
The Divers (2-6) took an early advantage and were looking strong early on when they took the first set, 11-8, but the Grundle (6-2) rebounded with consecutive wins to earn its sixth win behind 11-5 and 11-8 scores.
The Divers return to face Just Put It In tonight at 6:30pm, while the Chafed chaps play one of their biggest games of the season an hour later when they challenge Sand In My Pants at 7:30pm
Dirk Digglers 3, MHS Dolphin Leapers 0
After eight games of up-and-down play the Dirk Digglers (5-4) took the high road by sweeping the MHS Dolphin Leapers (2-6) in straight sets, 11-1, 11-6, and 12-10 in front of their friends and fellow fans of sand.
The win put the Digglers in fifth place with a one-game lead over Just Put It In (4-4) and a two-game advantage over Victoria’s Secret (3-5) with only three nights left in the season.
The Leapers have a week to lick their wounds before they return to the San Antonio sand to tackle Chafed Grundle at 5:30pm on Tuesday, June 13, while the Digglers take on the Clubmate-laden Last Call squad later that night at 8:30pm
Sand In My Pants 2, Lite U Up 1
Sandra Arnold’s squad beat the pants off of Lite U Up (6-2) on Tuesday night as Sand In My Pants (7-1) survived a shaky second set to climb into the second place slot in the league with their seventh win of the season.
After enjoying a relatively incident free 11-4 win in the opener, Sand In My Pants allowed the Ups to even the set count with a 12-10 win in the second before walloping the second highest scoring team with (239) 11-5 in the rubber match.
Lite U Up has allowed the second fewest points against (111) and is tied with Sand In My Pants for second most sets won (18), but they now trail Jon Cramer’s crew in the standings.
The Sandy squad looks to shake Chafed Grundle tonight at 7:30pm, while Lite U Up looks to regain some of its swagger tonight against Victoria’s Secret at 8:30pm.
