Masters Basketball meeting scheduled tomorrow
Organizers of the upcoming Masters Basketball League will be holding an important meeting tomorrow, Oct. 26, at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium conference room.
According to league coordinator Tony Rogolifoi, the meeting will be called to order at 5:30pm with the focus on rules, regulations, the tentative start date, and other issues relating to the league.
The league, which is tentatively scheduled to kick off on the second week of November, will be sanction by the Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands. BANMI has yet to decide on how much the entrance fee for each team will be, and the issue will be discussed during the meeting.
“So all interested are encouraged to start forming teams and secure sponsors,” Rogolifoi said.
Rogolifoi disclosed that the league will feature two age divisions—the 35-and-over and 45-and-over.
Games will be held at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, pending availability of the venue.
Rogolifoi explained that all players interested in taking part in the league must provide a copy of documents or identification cards that will be used for age verification.
“IDs such as driver’s license or passport will be accepted,” Rogolifoi said.
