Woman on moped robbed near WSR
A woman driving a moped was robbed by an unidentified man near William S. Reyes Elementary School in Chalan Kanoa Tuesday night.
Department of Public Safety acting spokesman Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr. said the victim, a 34-year-old Chinese, lost her purse containing a cellphone, cash, and other personal items.
Blas said police investigation showed that the victim was on a scooter heading south on the roadway between WSR School and Bolis R Us Store at 10pm.
As the victim was passing the store, the suspect ran up from behind and grabbed her purse. The suspect then ran behind the store.
The victim described the suspect as wearing a dark shirt, with black hair, weighing about 150 lbs, and 5’4” tall.
Blas appealed to anyone who has information about the incident to call the DPS Criminal Investigation Bureau at 664-9045 or the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 234-7272.
Last week an unidentified man reportedly robbed a Chinese woman who was walking along Beach Road in Garapan.
The victim lost her purse containing $120 cash, driver’s license, and other personal documents.
The suspect was described as possibly a local, about 5’6” to 5’8” tall and slim. He was wearing a black sleeveless shirt and gray short pants at the time, police said.
Police investigation showed that the victim was walking with a companion on Beach Road near Asian Scooters. The suspect came from behind, grabbed the victim’s purse, and ran away.
