The Division of Environmental Quality has cleared the waters of Managaha Island after samples collected showed no excessive concentration of fecal indicator bacteria.

“None of the samples collected contained excessive concentration of fecal indicator bacteria nor did they exceed the CNMI Marine Water Quality Standards. Therefore, DEQ assigns the sampled beach sites a Green flag. Enjoy our waters,” the agency said in a statement.

DEQ analyzes water samples collected from Managaha’s recreational beaches and dock this week as part of the regularly scheduled sampling. The division analyzed a total of 11 samples from the shore surrounding Managaha this week.
