Stuck at $3.21 per gallon

So why is it that Shell and Mobil have only lowered their gas prices by a total of $.37 since August while the rest of the nation’s average price per gallon has fallen by more than $.75? California, considered one of the states with the most expensive gas prices in the nation, has experienced a reduction from $3.04 to $2.25 per gallon. Since their August highs, oil prices dropped from $77 to $60 per barrel according to news reports. Why aren’t we seeing the same amount of price reduction as other parts of the U.S.? Whenever the price of gas increases in the U.S., Shell and Mobil are quick to respond by raising the prices here. Why is it that they are so slow to respond to the price decreases now? That’s just the benefit of being a monopoly on the island. We need to find other suppliers who would charge us less and, at the same time, create more competition. We are facing bitter times right now and gas prices are hurting us even more. Shell and Mobil needs a lesson in business ethics. They also need to face competition from other companies like Arco, Vallero, or 76.
