Dr. Debra Cabrera was recently appointed acting Accreditation Liaison Officer of the Northern Marianas College.

Acting president Danny Wyatt said Cabrera now joins the ranks of the Accreditation Liaison Officers of the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities.

Cabrera will be the accreditation spokesperson of the institution and the focal point for most accreditation-related discussions with Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Wyatt said as the accreditation spokesperson Cabrera would: serve as the chief interpreter of WASC Standards of Accreditation and contact point for most communications to our institution from WASC; and comment on WASC drafts about significant higher education policy issues.

Other tasks she would be handling are: to help manage and monitor the development of proposals to the Substantive Change Committee; responses to any complaints that have been made to WASC about our institution; responses to visiting team and Commission recommendations; and all other related jobs related to the WASC 2001 Handbook process.
