Good point
Marvin Cruz raised a good point in your paper last Tuesday.
He questioned the legitimacy of Glenna Palacios-Reyes’ trip to Hawaii. After all, since LB Director Jack Omar is going on the trip, why should his deputy have to go as well? Who is in charge of the LB while they are both away? Is it really absolutely necessary to send both LB directors on the same trip? Isn’t the point of having a deputy so that she can function in the deputy’s capacity during his absence?
Also, is it a coincidence that Glenna happens to be going on the same trip as her hubby, Sen. Pete P. Reyes? Or could this be a second honeymoon at taxpayer expense? Are we, as taxpayers, in effect paying for the deputy LB director and the Senate Vice President to honeymoon in Hawaii? I don’t believe these incidences are coincidence. As Marvin stated, he is not that stupid, nor am I, or anyone else for that matter. This waste and abuse of taxpayers’ dollars is insulting the intelligence of the people of the CNMI. Sen. Pete P. Reyes cannot be allowed to continue to insult the people of the CNMI by such blatant disregard and abuse of our hard earned dollars, especially with the crisis everyone is facing now. While they honeymoon at our expense, we have to cut back on necessities just to pay our utilities. Can you imagine the $250 daily per diem saved when the couple shares a hotel room? That probably came from the families that are now worried about how the next payment will be made on their power bills.
